TRANSPORT PLANNER/ROUTER: Require good geographical knowledge of UK. Route assigned vehicles to manage possible heavy workload whilst considering vehicle weight, customer/client requests, EU WTD and Tacho regulations. Possible liaising with depots as required in regards to volume of vehicles/drivers.

HR MANAGER/SUPERVISOR: The Human Resource Manager leads and directs the HR team. The HR Manager advises on best practice HR and where necessary takes a hands-on role in dealing with case work.
SALARY: From £30K +

FLM: The First Line Manager directs, supports and leads their team. Ensuring targets are met, conducting one to ones, liaising with higher management, briefing their team whenever necessary and taking a hands-on approach when needed.

TRANSPORT SUPERVISOR: To assist Transport Manager in the smooth running of the transport office or transport department doing whatever is necessary to make sure all transport legalities are compliant and adhered to.

REGIONAL MANAGER: Ensuring the smooth running of depot’s/offices in their remit. Liaising with depot managers and directors to ensure budgets/targets are met, ensuring all issues resolved and all compliances adhered to.

REGIONAL TRANSPORT MANAGER: Ensuring the smooth running of all transport departments in their remit, liaising with transport managers/directors, O licence holders and owner drivers to resolve any issues and ensure everything is kept compliant.

O LICENCE HOLDER: Holds the operator’s licence for vehicles 7.5 tonne and over in their remit, responsible for driver/vehicle compliance – handling Vosa inspections and possibly meeting with the Traffic Commissioner if not compliant.

DRVING ASSESSOR: Responsible for training and assessment of all drivers. Must be up to date on all WTD and Tacho legislations, ensuring all drivers and management are aware also.

FORK LIFT TRAINER: Training and Assessing of all fork lift drivers, ensuring compliance and awareness.

FINANCE DIRECTOR: Director of finance for the business, liaising with regional managers and setting targets. Overall responsibility for company finances.

VAN: Van driving is generally multi drop, it could be anything from parcels to flat packed furniture. Delivering to customers’ houses, getting signatures for items and ensuring the up keep of the vehicle.
SALARY: From £17K +

3.5 TONNE: 3.5 tonne driving is generally multi drop, anything from parcels/furniture to white goods. Delivering to customers’ houses ensuring items are signed for, also responsible for the general up keep of the vehicle. Depending on company possible DIGI Tacho and vehicle defect sheets.
SALARY: From £18K +

7.5 TONNE: First stage of HGV. Require C1 licence. Usually multi drop. White goods to parcels or furniture. Require driver CPC and must have up to date knowledge of all WTD and Tacho regulations. Daily vehicle checks, defect sheets and digital tacho.
SALARY: From £20K +

CLASS 2: HGV Class II Require C1 and C licence, could be multi drop, trunking or distance. Require driver CPC and must have up to date knowledge of all WTD and Tacho regulations. Daily vehicle checks, defect sheets and digital tacho.

CLASS 1: HGV Class 1 Require C1, C and CE licence. Generally trunking or distance driving. Require driver CPC and must have up to date knowledge of all WTD and Tacho regulations. Daily vehicle checks, defect sheets and digital tacho.

CLASS 2/ADR: As HGV Class II but with ability to carry ‘dangerous goods’ I.E Milk tanks, petrol or oil. When overnight driving, the vehicle must never be left unattended as the safety of the load must be ensured.

CLASS1/ADR: As HGV Class 1 but with ability to carry ‘dangerous goods’ I.E Milk tanks, petrol or oil. When overnight driving, the vehicle must never be left unattended as the safety of the load must be ensured.

INSTALLATION ENGINEER: This can range from installing TV’s to washing machines and anything in between. Usually also driving a 3.5 or 7.5 tonne vehicle.

SPECIAL INSTALLATION ENGINEER: As an installations engineer but including things a little more involved I.E integrated appliances or electrical cookers. Usually driving a 3.5 tonne or 7.5 tonne vehicle.
SALARY: From £21K +

GAS ENGINEER: This could be driving a 3.5 or 7.5 tonne vehicle and installing things like gas cookers or boilers.
SALARY: From £25K +

BOILER ENGINEER: Usually driving a van and servicing or installing boilers, including gas boilers.
SALARY: From £25K +

HGV TECH ENGINEER: Mechanical. Specially trained to service/MOT and work on HGV and commercial vehicles.
SALARY: From £26K +

FORK LIFT DRIVER: Driving one of 3 types of forklift trucks. Usually to pick palletised or large goods from a warehouse ready to be shipped or loaded.
SALARY: From £16K +

PICKER/PACKER/LOADER: Picking, packing or loading from pick lists. Either ready to be loaded and shipped or to load yourself.
SALARY: From £16K +

FACTORY PRODUCTION LINE: Usually a production line to make/build/wrap anything from toys to furniture.
SALARY: From £15K +
